Research Experience

My research is positioned in the field of Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) with a strong emphasis on Child-Computer Interaction (CCI). My focus has primarily been on designing innovative technologies aimed at enhancing the well-being and empowerment of both neurotypical and neurodivergent children, along with their families and caregivers.

This has enabled me to gain experience in designing for diverse user needs and interests, including different age groups (e.g. young children, teenagers, older adults), user group constellations (e.g. families, health professionals, teachers), and both neurotypical and neurodivergent (e.g. ADHD) individuals. Central to my approach is a commitment to not only design for users but also with them, actively involving them in the creative process to ensure our solutions resonate with their real-world needs and experiences.

This aligns with my interest in personal and family informatics, exploring the integration of technology into everyday life for improving family dynamics and personal development. My past explorations within the field of HCI have included the development of smart environments, virtual humans, and conversational user interfaces. This diverse range of areas enriches my current work, bringing a multifaceted perspective to supporting varied and inclusive needs through technological innovation.
